Program: Physical Therapist Assistant- BC

Program Description: This is an Associate degree and required to apply to the program for acceptances. A program that prepares individuals under the supervision of a physical therapist to implement physical therapy treatment care plans train patients conduct treatment interventions use equipment and observe and record patient progress. Includes instruction in applied anatomy and physiology applied kinesiology principles and procedures of physical therapy basic neurology and orthopedics physical therapy modalities documentation skills psychosocial aspects of health care wound and injury care electrotherapy working with orthotics and prostheses and personal and professional ethics.

Prerequisites:
This is a non-transferable degree, not a pre-Physical Therapy degree. 1. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher 2. Current American Heath Association Health Care Provider CPR card 3. A "C" in each prerequisite course: BIOL B32, BIOL B33 and PHTA B50-Intro to PTA 4. Health Clearance (Immunizations and Physical Exam) 5. Current California Driver's License 6. Current California automobile insurance and use of an automobile. 7. Graduation from an accredited high school or GED equivalency.
