Program Description: A program focusing on the theory and practice of fires and fire-fighting. Includes instruction in fire chemistry and physics combustible materials computer science building construction fire codes and related laws fire hydraulics fire command fire prevention inspection fire protection systems fire suppression systems fire arson investigation occupational safety equipment operation emergency medicine and communications.

- Admission is open to Valley ROP Fires Sciences Pathway students - A candidate must attain their FIRET-1 class OR equivalent. - FIRET 131 or equivalent course with national registry. - A candidate must be at least 18 years old, and has a high school diploma. Note: There is physical agility test required before the student is enrolled into the Fire Academy.
