Program: Vocational Nursing Program/Practical Nurse License - Multiple Cohorts

Program Description: The Vocational Nursing Program at Visalia Adult School is an 18-month educational program designed to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and clinical experience required for entry-level practice as Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs). The curriculum is delivered over three semesters and combines classroom-based instruction with supervised clinical training in a variety of healthcare settings. The program enrolls up to three concurrent cohorts of 30 students each, with staggered start and completion dates to support continuous training opportunities. Instruction includes foundational nursing theory, patient care techniques, and professional standards, while clinical experiences provide hands-on application of skills in real-world medical environments. Students who successfully complete all program requirements are eligible to apply for and take the California State Board Licensing Examination for Vocational Nursing (NCLEX). Admission to the program requires completion of prerequisite coursework and submission of an application.

Prerequisites:
Must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum CTE placement test score of 247 or higher. Must complete one of the following: Medical Terminology, Medical Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant, or equivalent to be completed prior to class start date - from a WASC Accredited School.
