Program: Professional Truck Driving

Program Description: A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to drive trucks and buses delivery vehicles for-hire vehicles and other commercial vehicles or to instruct commerical vehicle operators. Includes instruction in operating gas diesel or electrically-powered vehicles loading and unloading cargo or passengers reporting delays or accidents on the road verifying load against shipping papers arranging transportation for personnel and keeping records of receipts and fares.

Prerequisites:
Recommended 8th-grade reading and math levels Ability to do physical strenuous labor and other strenuous activities such as lifting, bending, reaching, and climbing. Must be a minimum age of 21 years of age. Have a valid CA driver’s license for at least one year and in good standing. Be able to pass a physical examination (DOT Medical Examination Report) and drug screening. Completed CDL Class A application
