Program: Passport

Program Description: Passport is an Oilfield Orientation Course developed by the California Oil Producer group. A valid passport card is required to be eligible to work on any oil lease in the valley. Passport complies with the Kern County Oil and Gas Ordinance Workers Environmental Awareness Plan (WEAP), and is updated annually. Topics include: COPS Video, Hazard Communications, Proposition 65, Hydrogen Sulfide, Personal Protective Equipment, Control of Noise, Confined Space Awareness, Cranes, Slings, Rigging, Overhead Powerlines, Code of Safe Work Practices, Field Hazards, Endangered Species, Job Safety Analysis - Producer’s Permit Procedures, Heat Illness - Fall Protection, WEAP - Producer’s Safety Requirements (Worker Environmental Awareness Program), Excavation, and Trenching.

Prerequisites:
ABC Training Academy trainees must be: 16 years of age, physically able to perform all essential functions of the craft and adapt to the job environment, and demonstrate drive and interest in pursuing a long-term career in the industry.
