Program Description: | A program that prepares individuals to perform routine nursing-related services to patients in hospitals or long-term care facilities, under the training and supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. This course provides both classroom theory instruction and clinical training at local medical facilities. Upon sucessful completion of the course, students will be eligible to take the CA State Certification Exam for Nurs Assistants. |

Prerequisites: | Student: Must be 18 years of age with a High School diploma/GED or CHSPE. Must have a placement reading test of at least 247. Fingerprint clearance - All court convictions (except minor traffic accidents) have to be cleared by CA Department of Public Health before being admitted to our program. Physical exam. TB skin test or chest x-ray negative for tuberculois. Must Pass Random drug screen test. (Student will be contacted by Visalia Adult School). Class is chosen by lottery.
