Program: Culinary Arts

Program Description: The one-year Culinary Arts program prepares students with the foundational skills and knowledge needed for entry-level employment in the food service, hospitality, and culinary arts industry. Students receive hands-on training in the school’s in-house Café/Catering kitchen, where they gain practical experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and customer service. Prerequisite: Students must have a high school diploma or equivalent prior to enrollment. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to demonstrate proper safety and sanitation practices, identify and care for kitchen tools and equipment, apply basic cooking and baking principles, prepare food items in a commercial kitchen setting, demonstrate professionalism and teamwork, and understand workplace expectations in the food service industry. The program includes instruction in ServSafe training, knife skills, food production, product identification, culinary hospitality, and restaurant-style desserts. The program also includes the course textbook, ServSafe Manager training and exam, basic uniform package, and other required program materials.
