Program: Backhoe

Program Description: Identifies and describes the common uses, types, components, instruments, controls, and attachments of backhoes. Presents safety guidelines, pre-start inspection procedures, and preventative maintenance requirements. Describes startup and operation, and covers common work activities associated with backhoes. This course includes 8 hours of classroom training and 32 hours of hands-on field exercises.

Prerequisites:
Participants must complete the ABC Grade Checking course prior to enrollment in Backhoe. ABC Training Academy trainees must be: 16 years of age, physically able to perform all essential functions of the craft and adapt to the job environment.
